# capy decrypt: Decrypt Secrets During Recovery

> Write a temporary decrypted environment file while an owner recovery session is active.

## Synopsis

```bash theme={null}
capy decrypt
capy decrypt --web
```

## Description

`capy decrypt` is an owner recovery command. It decrypts the selected branch into a temporary `.env.*.decrypted` file so you can recover access to its values. The file contains plaintext and is not a normal development workflow.

When you finish, run `capy end-recover` in the same directory to clear the recovery session and remove matching decrypted files. The global `--web` flag renders supported recovery interaction in a local browser.
